Customer FAQ's about PIP™ products

Common questions about PIP™ cleaning solutions

1.   What is PIP – Probiotics In Progress™?
PIP™ products represent a new generation of cleaning products, containing good bacteria to replace ‘bad bugs’ such as Salmonella, E. coli, Staphylococcus, Clostridium, MRSA and other disease-causing bacteria.

2.  What are probiotics?
Probiotics are safe and good bacteria promoting a healthy effect on humans and animals.

3. How do PIP Products work?
During cleaning with PIP™ products, a large portion of the pathogenic bacteria is removed by detergents and enzymes, as is the case with many cleaning products. The innovative aspect of PIP™ is that immediately after cleaning, a layer of good, probiotic bacteria is placed on the treated surfaces (floors, walls, furniture, beds, counters…). These PIP™ probiotic bacteria eat away harmful bacteria’s food source (biofilm) and immediately occupy all space, food and water, thereby preventing newly arriving pathogens from multiplying.

4. Are PIP products disinfectants?
No, PIP™ does not kill harmful bacteria like anti-bacterial cleaners, disinfectants and sterilants.  As a result, it does not create resistance and will not contribute to the development of drug-resistant strains of bacteria.

5. Where are PIP products applicable?
PIP™ products are applicable everywhere - in homes, hospitals, businesses, sports facilities, spas, health clubs, restaurants, you name it.  Our products are used in over 32 countries around the world and are now available to North America.

6. Do I keep disinfecting when using PIP?
No, the best results with PIP™ products are obtained when no disinfection is done anymore. No other cleaner or disinfectant should be used after a surface is treated with PIP™, or it will diminish PIP™’s effectiveness and ability to protect surfaces from disease-causing bacteria.

7. Are PIP products safe to humans, and is protective clothing recommended?
Due to their biological nature, all PIP™ products are perfectly safe for humans and animals, eco-friendly, biodegradable, non-toxic, non-flammable and contain 100% organic probiotics. No gloves or protective clothing is required, and contact with bare skin will have no negative effect.  Especially friendly to children and pets!

8. What happens when I interrupt the application of PIP?
The probiotic bacteria in the PIP™ products colonise the environment and create a stable and healthy microbiota. They maintain their activity for up to three days, but a frequent addition of ‘fresh’ PIP™ bacteria is required to maintain optimal results. We do not recommend an interruption any longer than 3 days.

9. What are the consequences of over-use of PIP concentrate?
There are no consequences.  An over-concentrated use of PIP™ products will lead to a higher number of good PIP™ bacteria on the treated surface, so it is not harmful. Adding more concentrate than the recommended dilution will only waste product.

10. What are the optimal storage conditions for the PIP products?
Given the presence of probiotic bacteria in the products, storage no lower than 37°F or above 115°F is recommended. Direct sunlight is to be avoided.

11. Can you use the cleaning products directly out of the bottle in concentrated form?
No because the probiotic bacteria in PIP™ are in suspension and are inactive in concentrate form.  One teaspoon of concentrate is mixed with 16 oz of warm water to activate the probiotics.  Using more product than necessary does not make it stronger.  Once the cleaning product (concentrate) is mixed with water, it is active for seven days.
